When scale is surplus

چکیده
We study a long-recognised but under-appreciated symmetry called "dynamical similarity" and illustrate its relevance to many important conceptual problems in fundamental physics. Dynamical similarities are general transformations of system where the unit Hamilton's principal function is rescaled, therefore represent kind dynamical scaling with formal properties that differ from standard symmetries. To this symmetry, we develop framework for symmetries distinguishes observable surplus structures theory by using minimal freely specifiable initial data necessary achieve empirical adequacy. When every $P$-flat ideal is flat
In this paper, we study the class of rings in which every $P$-flat ideal is flat and which will be called $PFF$-rings. In particular, Von Neumann regular rings, hereditary rings, semi-hereditary ring, PID and arithmetical rings are examples of $PFF$-rings. In the context domain, this notion coincide with Pr"{u}fer domain. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for...
متن کاملEstimation of Returns to Scale in the Presence of Undesirable (bad) Outputs in DEA when the Firm is Regulated
The calculation of RTS amounts to measuring a relationship between inputs and outputs in a production structure. There are many methods to measure RTS in the primal space or the dual space. One of the main approaches is using the multiplier on the convexity constraint. But returns to scale measurements in DEA models are affected by the presence of regulatory constraints. These additional constr...

Is There Surplus Labor in Rural India?
We show empirically using panel data at the plot and farm level and based on a model incorporating supervision costs, risk, credit-market imperfections and scale-economies associated with mechanization that small-scale farming is inefficient in India. Larger farms are more profitable per acre, more mechanized, less constrained in input use after bad shocks, and employ less per-acre labor than s...
متن کاملWhat is consumer surplus, and how is it measured
What is consumer surplus, and how is it measured? ANSWER: Consumer surplus measures the benefit to buyers of participating in a market. It is measured as the amount a buyer is willing to pay for a good minus the amount a buyer actually pays for it. For an individual purchase, consumer surplus is the difference between the willingness to pay, as shown on the demand curve, and the market price. F...
